Vintage Patchouli Dark- Indian Aged 1980 – Pogostemon cablin
We are pleased to announce that we have now acquired a 235 grams batch of pure, 30+ years old vintage.
Before we dive in to the details, let’s see what my friend Tim has to say about this oil.
“A whirlwind of notes spinning round a deep, it’s a sub base note but has a delicate spicy aura to it, something almost citrusy cumin there from the bottle but when worn on the skin it’s a lot more delicate and a complete perfume.”
Vintage Patchouli Dark oil was steam distilled between 1986 and 1990 and was left to age.
This is a real treat, i was shocked at the first wiff, the profile is very different to the fresh version, which is more earthy and some have roughness to it, but this one is deep rich balsamic, creamy, smells of an old oak barrel, earthy, woody nuances of a forest.
I can wear this as an attar by itself any day and blending this with Sandalwood oil will make it into a real perfume oil.
The consistency is thick and sticky and the ageing is quite evident.
If you are a Patchouli lover, this 31 years old beauty is a must have.
I think Patchouli completes an oriental perfume and this one will definitely make any thing magical.
