Styrax or Liquidambar is a common material but its difficult to find pure Styrax without any additives is difficult. We have managed to get this batch directly from the source, this is food grade and even used in making ice creams, this is the real deal.

Styrax is very sweet, balsamic effect with very nice persistence, slight floral and honey like notes, leathery aroma and i can smell new shoes, resinous, animalic, and has vanilla and amber like nuances.

The consistency is like honey and sticky and will require Baine Marie.

The styrax is a large tree that grows wild in the mountains of central Honduras. Trees more than 50 years old are slashed at the base of the trunk to tap their balsam. This tapping, also called “Pica,” is carried out from March through April, and the balsam begins to flow in June, continuing through the next February.
