Royal Hindi Gaf Char Agarwood is sweet, strong, full bodied oud chips. This is a rare type of agarwood mostly found in north eastern part of India.

Most oud chips are found inside the trunk of the tree, however Gaf char is normally found on the outer side of the trunk and it is carefully scooped out by the oud farmers or hunters as they are called. The pieces are very well cleaned and performs great on a cooled down charcoal or even a subtism heater or electric burner.

Royal Gaf char smells luxurious, The pieces are around 4 to 8 cms length and wide. The fragrance is sweet, strong, oudy and a client also says that it has some fruity nuances. This oud is definitely great value for money, can we used daily and is one of the best Indian – Hindi oud in our collection. When it burns you will see there is so much oil in the oud that it starts to bubble when placed on charcoal.

We are selling Oud to clients who have been using it since their childhood and all of them say that no matter which oud they try from different parts of the world, they always come back to the Indian agarwood. However it is very hard to find good untampered Indian agarwood, most of the materials found the local markets have been painted and polished to make them look high quality, simply put there is a lot of cheating, in my experience 99% have something done to it.

Agarwood is generally classified according to the content of oil in the wood, color and shape
Indian Agarwood is long lasting after it’s burned. It has the notes of strong oudy incense,  and woody.

The main types are:

Solla – Thin long pieces around 3 to 5 cms long

Muri – Very peculiar looking – Small size around 2 to 6 cms

Char – There are many different types of char, namely Gaf Char, Chakri Char, Patti Char, Shouki Gaf Char – They are like thick potatoes chips
King Muri – Small to medium around 3 to 10 cms
Zura – Looks like a stick and has pointed ends 4 cms to 10 cms
King Zura – Looks like a stick and has pointed ends and the size is around 10 cms to 25 cms
Seeufi – The shapes are normally flat with spikey ends. Thickness is around 1 cms and length about 10 to 30 cms
