Helichrysum Absolute – Everlasting Sandy – Helichrysum italicum G. Don – Corsica
We have now received the first batch of Helichrysum Absolute from Corsica, its a great material for perfumers.
Helichrysum Absolute is so complex, it slight fruity like passion fruit, suede leather, sour and has nuances of Indian Oud.
Helichrysum, or everlasting, is a small herbaceous plant that grows in various regions of the Mediterranean Basin (Corsica, Italy, Croatia, etc.). It can be harvested wild, but is also often cultivated. It grows well in dry regions. The harvest takes place when the plant is in full bloom, usually in June. Immediately after harvesting, the flowering tops are put through a solvent extraction process to produce the absolute.
