We have sourced this Cardamom Essential oil from a local supplier in Guatemala, it is one of the unknown origins for Cardamom.
Cardamom is grown in many countries in Asia such as India, Sri Lanka, China, Guatemala etc. We have tested Cardamom from many different suppliers and find the Indian our Co2 version and this one from Guatemala to be one of the best.
This one from Guatemalan offers powerful green powdery, spicy notes, rapidly evolving toward a dry woody effect. It is great for all types of perfume compositions.
Cardamom oil is one of the oldest known essential oils. Its distillation is described in reports by Valerius Cordus dating from 1540. This plant of the ginger family is cultivated in Guatemala and India. Encased in green pods, its seeds contain an essential oil. The spice itself is used in Indian curries and to flavor the well-known “Arabic coffee.”
It opens with spicy, freshly cut pepper, citrusy, peppery, woody. Perfect for any type of perfume composition.
