Derived from saffron cultivated in India’s renowned Kashmir Valley, this specialized saffron extract captures the luxurious and unmistakable aroma of true saffron stigmas. Harvested during November and December, the delicate crimson stigmas are carefully handpicked by skilled workers and graded according to quality, with only the finest material selected for extraction.
Extracting a true essential oil directly from saffron is an exceptionally difficult process and cannot be achieved through conventional steam distillation. To preserve the authentic scent of saffron, our partner has developed a specialized extraction system that captures the aromatic compounds of the spice and stabilizes them in MPG (Mono Propylene Glycol). MPG is widely used in perfumery and cosmetic applications as a safe and effective solvent that helps absorb, retain, and carry delicate aromatic molecules.
The resulting saffron oil is a liquid material with a warm, spicy, leathery, and subtly hay-like aroma closely resembling genuine saffron threads. In fine perfumery and personal care products, it provides an elegant spicy effect in the top notes and is especially suited for oriental, woody, and oud-based accords. It blends beautifully with rose, patchouli, sandalwood, amber, and agarwood, adding richness, warmth, and a lasting exotic signature to fragrance compositions.
