Oakmoss Absolute Low Atranol 50% TEC is an IFRA-compliant version of oakmoss absolute, made by blending 50% oakmoss with 50% natural triethyl citrate. Oakmoss, derived from various lichen species in the Evernia and Pseudevernia genera, is known for its deep, earthy fragrance and fixative qualities. Used in perfumery for centuries, it adds a sensual element and enhances the longevity of fragrances. Its complex scent opens with fresh, green mossy notes, evolving into rich, woody undertones that evoke forest soil and aged oak bark, with subtle hints of leather and tobacco.

Oakmoss is grown on oak trees across Europe and Africa, processed through drying, pressing, and solvent extraction. It blends well with floral, green, and oriental accords and is a key component in chypre perfumes like Mitsouko. The oil has mossy, musky, amber, woody, and earthy notes and is processed in France. The oil’s distillation date is January 2023, with the lichen as the plant part used.
