Spikenard Essential Oil – Nepal – Nardostachys jatamansi
Spikenard is magnificent, its a flowering plant distributed throughout Nepal at an elevation of 3000m to 5000m and oil is extracted by steam distillation is highly fragrant. It has many other names such as jatamansi, musk root and nard.
This essential oil has sweet, woody cedarwood, spicy aroma like a blend of pepper, ginger and some say it resembles valerian however dry down is softer with more delicate woody and earthy nuisances.
Spikenard has a huge following on the aromatherapy side.
